LessonLedger ("the app") is made by 87 Media, LLC ("we," "us," "our"). This policy explains what happens to your data when you use it.
The short version: we don't collect your data. We can't see it. It never reaches our servers, because we don't have any.
What data the app handles
LessonLedger helps you track your students, lesson schedules, attendance, and payments. To do that, it stores information you enter yourself:
- Student names, contact details (phone, email), and birthdays
- Lesson schedules, attendance records, and notes
- Payment amounts, dates, and payment methods you record
- Your own billing rates and settings
Where that data lives
All of it stays on your device and in your own private iCloud account (via Apple's CloudKit, in the private database tied to your Apple Account). It syncs automatically between your own devices — iPhone, iPad, Apple Watch — the same way Apple's own apps (Notes, Reminders) sync. We never receive a copy. We don't operate a server, and there is no LessonLedger account to sign into.
If you use the Apple Watch companion, lesson and payment data is passed directly from your iPhone to your paired Watch over Apple's WatchConnectivity framework. It isn't stored anywhere else along the way.
What we don't do
- No analytics or usage tracking
- No advertising, and no ad networks
- No third-party SDKs of any kind
- No selling, renting, or sharing your data — we couldn't, even if we wanted to, since we never have it
- No account, login, or password
Subscriptions and payment
If you subscribe to LessonLedger Pro, that purchase is handled entirely by Apple through the App Store. We receive confirmation that you're subscribed — not your payment or card details. Apple's own privacy policy governs that transaction: https://www.apple.com/legal/privacy/
Your control over your data
Everything you enter is yours. You can export a full backup at any time (Settings ▸ Backup and Restore), and you can delete everything from the app (Settings ▸ Delete All Data). Deleting the app, or turning off iCloud sync for it in your device's iCloud settings, removes LessonLedger's data from iCloud too.
Children's data
LessonLedger is a business tool for tutors, coaches, and instructors — it's not directed at children, and its users are the adults running that business. If you use it to keep records for a student who is a minor (e.g. their name or birthday), that information is entered and controlled by you, stored the same way as everything else above, and never reaches us.
Changes to this policy
If this policy changes, we'll update the date at the top. Material changes will be noted in the app's release notes.
